Newport - Ezeeeplay launch

[starts]

Children’s birthday present service, timto.co.uk, is delighted to team up with children’s play bus organisation ‘Play on the Move’ to help raise much needed funds for charities operating in South Wales.

The first service of its kind, timto lets children add their favourite charity to their birthday wish list. Friends then have the option to contribute towards great gifts along aside other friends, knowing that a proportion is also going towards a good cause.

Nathan Cornish, co-founder of South Wales based timto said “We identified that in Wales over £10 million a year is in-effect wasted on children’s birthday party presents that are never used. Our fun, educational service makes it easy for friends to group together to give great gifts and enable some of the expenditure, which may have been wasted, to be redistributed to charity.”

Tracey Bancroft, who runs ‘Play on the Move’ bus and the children’s indoor activity play centre Ezeeeplay, said “We are always looking to find fun ways of adding a new dimension to our birthday parties. Customers now have the option use timto’s service which means that we can also help local charities, which I am delighted to encourage.”

Amy White of Children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent said “We are excited about being part of this initiative which makes it easy and fun for children to help other children”

Tracey added ‘the ethos behind our not for profit play-bus service is to provide families and communities with a great opportunity for active play. As the play bus is mobile we can reach remote parts of South Wales where play space is often limited. So partnering with timto is perfect as it creates excitement for children and brings together local charities and local communities in a very unique way.

To celebrate the partnership we are running a free competition, to win the party bus for a forthcoming event. The competition is open to individuals and organisations either online or via Ezeeeplay, Newport.

timto.co.uk

timto means there is more to …timto is a family business run by two brothers, Nathan (39) and Luke Cornish (29).timto aims to make it easy & attractive for people to act as a global citizen by caring for others and helping the environment. Our revolutionary service enables friends to give ‘better’ gifts together & for a charity to benefit too.

We hope to encourage families to donate to charity when they are celebrating a special occasion. By pairing together children’s charities and play venues we hope to capture the imagination of the local community to become a significant fundraising force.

The Abercynon based company has also been consulted by the UK Cabinet Office regarding how timto can add value to the ‘Giving’ Green Paper, which seeks to boost acts of citizenship by finding new ways to “engage families & introduce children to the concept of giving from a young age”.

We have also just published an report into the environmental impact of the packaging and wrapping of children’s birthday party presents.

We are already working with a wide range of charities from the smallest to the largest in the UK. The link provides a series of charity testimonials supporting our concept.

Notes to Editor: CLIC Sargent Registered charity number is 1107328

Every day 10 families are told their child has cancer. As the UK's leading children's cancer charity, CLIC Sargent is the only organisation to offer them all round care and support. That’s because we’re there every step of the way:

During treatment – providing specialist nurses, play specialists, Homes from Home

In hospital & at home – offering specialist social care and support in the community – services for young people, holidays, grants

After treatment – helping survivors, supporting those bereaved

Notes to Editor: Play on the Move Ltd

Play on the Move Ltd (Playbus) is a not-for-profit organisation offering mobile play services throughout South Wales. A soft play converted playbus is ‘a play centre on wheels’ that enables the services to reach isolated, deprived and rural communities as well as those within the inner cities.

As an active participation of the Play providers association (PPA) who work with children and young people we have a role to fulfill in recognising and promoting children’s rights - working towards helping them reach their potential as individuals. Article 31 of the UNCRC states that all children must have the right to play and take part in leisure and cultural activities.

Active play is key to addressing the challenges of child development, obesity and poverty and this unique environment allows children to receive their recommended 60 active minutes by just having ‘fun’. www.playonthemove.co.uk
