South Wales children’s charities to benefit from donations when birthdays celebrated

Children’s birthday present service, timto.co.uk, is delighted to team up with children’s play centre Jump in Cardiff to help raise much needed funds for South Wales Charities.

The first service of its kind, timto lets children add their favourite charity to their birthday wish list. Friends then have the option to contribute towards great gifts along aside other friends, knowing that a proportion is also going towards a good cause.

Nathan Cornish, co-founder of Cardiff based timto said “We identified that in Wales over £10 million a year is in-effect wasted on children’s birthday party presents that are never used. Our fun, educational service makes it easy for friends to group together to give great gifts and enable some of the expenditure, which may have been wasted, to be redistributed to charity.”

Naomi Heighes, manager of Wales’s largest play centre Jump 123 in Llanishen, Cardiff said “We are always looking to find fun ways of adding a new dimension to our birthday parties. So by making the service available to Jump customers we are also able to help local charities too.”

Amy White, of ClIC Sargent added “We are excited about being involved as it makes it easy and fun for children to help other children”

To celebrate the partnership we are running a free competition, to win a free birthday party at Jump. The competition is open to individuals and organisations and full details are available online.

Notes to the editor

timto.co.uk

timto means there is more to …timto is a family business run by two brothers, Nathan (39) and Luke Cornish (29).timto aims to make it easy & attractive for people to act as a global citizen by caring for others and helping the environment. Our revolutionary service enables friends to give ‘better’ gifts together & for a charity to benefit too.

We hope to encourage families to donate to charity when they are celebrating a special occasion. By pairing together children’s charities and play venues we hope to capture the imagination of the local community to become a significant fundraising force.

The company has also been consulted by the UK Cabinet Office regarding how timto can add value to the ‘Giving’ Green Paper, which seeks to boost acts of citizenship by finding new ways to “engage families & introduce children to the concept of giving from a young age”.http://www.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/sites/default/files/resources/Giving-Green-Paper.pdf

timto have just published a report into the impact of the packaging and wrapping of children’s birthday party presents on the environment http://issuu.com/timto/docs/timto_environmental_project_-_final

Timto are already working with a wide range of charities from the smallest to the largest in the UK. The link provides a series of charity testimonials supporting our unique concept www.timto.co.uk/charity-quotes.

In August we will release our full celebration range which will include adult, teenage and baby versions of the service as well as office parties – e.g. leaving do
